IMO the ndp in AB lost its way a long time ago. This is evidenced by the extreme policies before, during and after the Rachel Notley leadership. The same can be said about the political culture that has evolved in BC after many years of ndp governance and corruption that more closely resembles communism than any perception of democracy. And sellout doublespeak Singh has ensured that ndp will no longer be a serious consideration anywhere in Canada because of his support which enabled the most divisive and destructive PM in Canadian history to destroy Canada;s culture, for personal enrichment. Those who survive Trudeau's unbelievable reign of tyranny will remember who made it possible. It's very sad as some family members were involved in the suffering which caused them to form the CCF party in SK and they moved to BC in the late 40's . Most of the causes surrounding the birth of the CCF came as a result of hardship and suffering of farmers and workers during the great depression of the 30's. That seemed to take a back seat when the name was changed to NDP and that was when they lost their way.

There's a big difference between safe supply and safe substitution. Safe supply provides people with their drug of choice. Substitution doesn't do that. Methadone has been diverted for decades. People sell it for heroin. Trade it up. As BC did with dilaudid. It never was safe supply. Of course it would get diverted. Youth get hard drugs from siblings or friends. I know as I worked with heroin for nearly 18 years. Over 2,000 people aged 14 up.
